This is what I call a ‘wearable toile’. I admit it; it’s an experiment. And as such, I reckon it’s a good ‘un.

The fabric’s pretty but (quality-wise) pretty damn awful, and I had a scant metre to play with. Cue some creative pattern adjustment (besides, who wants to faff about with a gusset on that lingerie ‘classic’, the teddy??).

The lack of fabric meant each piece had to be planned carefully. And, man alive, the finished article’s short. But hey, so am I .. so it means there’s always room for something fun and flirty in this girl’s overnight bag.

Ta-da; a version of design A which’s made the most of the limited fabric. Perfect as a summer nightdress (with the addition of cross-backed straps so it stays on, FTW!)

Sometimes you gotta make the most of what you’ve got .. and what you get’s damn good.
