I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions; too much hard work, not enough fun. All stick, no carrot.
But setting intentions? That’s the kind of thinking I can get behind.
As you can see from above, I have just one or two books about sewing.
[Cough]
What you’ll see (when I get around to snapping em), is that I have the fabric to back up those books. MORE than enough, frankly. Same too goes for notions, patterns, half-finished projects, half-arsed projects .. yeah.
So 2014 is about an intention; to make the most of what I’ve got.
To wit:
- Reduce the number of new clothes I buy. To be honest, that’s not too tricky; I’m not a big shopper when it comes to spanking new clobber. I’ve kept a half an eye on the January Sales and found little that’s inspired me to break out the readies [phew];
- Complete a sewing project each month. Ideally I’d like to sew something new from scratch each month but, with so many ideas floating around my head and so many UFOs (Unfinished Sewing Projects) floating about my flat, I’m aiming at completion first;
- Record any sewing progress. Keep a little record, here, on this blog. Just because I can.
Easy. Right?

woah!! it’s like a private sewing library, the ultimate happy space.
So glad I found your blog!!! Everything is just beautiful 🙂
Thank you so much! You’re right, it absolutely *is* like a private sewing library. Alongside a private fabric shop, private pattern shop, private ribbon and bead shop… Wait, I think I *might* have a problem..! 😀
